This morning our family experienced a loss we were not prepared for. Rico’s dad passed away unexpectedly, and our hearts are completely broken. He was also the one caring for two of his grandchildren making sure they had stability, love, and routine. Losing him has turned all of our lives upside down.

Now the kids will be coming to live with us, and even though we’re opening our home with love and without hesitation, it’s a huge sudden change for everyone, especially right before the holidays. On top of grieving, we’re trying to handle funeral arrangements, get the kids settled, and make sure they have everything they need during such an emotional time.
