Help with vet bill for ex polo pony, Ombu

We are raising money to help pay a specific vet bill for Ombu, who came to us at Blue Acre as a retired polo pony. He is a perfect gentleman in every way but his special talent is his amazing way of connecting with young or nervous horses. He's been a huge part of many rescues - we take him to the site and he encourages scared or young horses to firstly come to us and then to calmly load onto our trailer to get them to safety. He then stays with them for their first few weeks at the farm before they are integrated into the main herd

Recently he sustained a hoof injury which resulted in him being hospitalised for a week due to a serious infection. He's taken all of this in his stride and is a joy to care for at home.

Our vets have been amazing in their quick diagnosis and care of Ombu but we now have a vet bill of over £2000.

​We aim to rehabilitate and re-home as many of the horses we take in as possible, however most of them come from an abused or neglected background. With this in mind the most important work is done in helping them learn to trust humans and feel safe again.

If rehoming isn't an option due to age or long term injuries or ailments they will live out their lives at Rescue
