Everyone remembers what it felt like to stay somewhere a little too late and suddenly realize you might not be alone...

I’m D. McCully, a student filmmaker raising money for my senior capstone, Ex Libris.

Logline

"An apprehensive college student working a night shift at the library asks her supernatural-obsessed classmate to dispel an entity before closing."

The film blends suspense, folklore, and character driven storytelling. If you enjoy similar TV/film like Stranger Things, Gravity Falls, The X Files, or IT, then you would also love Ex Libris.

$2000 Goal

This sum has been carefully calculated to consider every facet of the filmmaking process, and each penny goes entirely into what you will see on screen.

Why This Matters

This project serves as a proof of concept for a larger television pilot, demonstrating the potential for a character driven horror story rooted in New Orleans folklore and dark academia. At its core, the film explores learning to trust yourself in frightening and unfamiliar situations, showing how confidence is built not through fearlessness, but through confronting the unknown.
