Saving Ace

I never thought I would find myself in this position, but somethings are just too important and Ace is one.   Ace is truly my heart and more important than anything to me. 
I have rescued many animals and never regretted it. Several weeks ago I rescued 2 small donkeys from slaughter and I thought I had quarantined them long enough. Apparently I was wrong. The good news is the donkeys are now healthy and made it through Strangles just fine. The bad news is Ace is very sick.  His sickness didn’t follow the normal course and abscesses are growing internally.  In addition he also has the infection in his guttural pouches.  We are battling  a high fever and working hard to keep him eating and drinking. He has been under veterinary care and my vet has done all she can do. The only chance left is to get him to the university for treatment. 
The cost is expensive and I have never asked for anything like this, but the only thing tougher than my pride is the thought of losing him. Anything would be appreciated.
