Hi my name is Paulina and I’m raising money for my boyfriend Louie’s dog/bestfriend Benji. On Thursday evening, our playful and active baby began acting strange and around midnight we decided to take him to a 24 hour hospital where they told us that he had an upset stomach. We went home relieved but in the morning he was still acting strange so we decided to get a second opinion. They told us an x-ray would be best so we left him there until he could be seen. After the X-ray the doctor told us it was not IVDD, but that he had arthritis and sent us home with pain medicine and medicine for inflammation. Saturday morning he lost complete movement of his back legs. We frantically took him back to the hospital and they told us he has IVDD and we needed to take him to an emergency hospital. They told us the surgeon would not be in until Tuesday so $6000 later were scrambling to figure out how to get the money for the surgery. The longer we wait, however, the worse benji is getting. Louie got Benji as an emotional support animal after his mom passed and he’s been bringing happiness to him and his family at the darkest times in their life. Louie is never the type to ask for help but he is the type to take the shirt off his back for his loved ones and is always there for people who need him. Many people may think we might be crazy for spending this amount of money on a dog but after going through the hardest years of their life, Benji is the only thing that would constantly bring a smile to their face. He has given us so much love, he deserves for us to do whatever we have to do to save him.
