Jaynish Patel Ewing's Sarcoma Fund
Donation protected
My brother, Jaynish, never let his illness define him. He displayed strength and courage at all times, never showing his pain. He was the most courageous, kind- hearted, and determined individual. Seeing him, you never would have guessed what he was going through, or has gone through since the age of 14. He was the type of person to stand above it all with a smile on his face 24/7. This was evident when he became one of the top graduates of his high school class, despite his battle with Ewing's Sarcoma. He continued to pursue his goals and dreams bravely. Throughout his college career, my brother raised money for a program called the Tomorrow's Children Fund, to give back to the hospital where he was receiving treatment. To this day, his legacy lives on and I want to further honor him and his legacy by starting this fund in his honor. The Jaynish Patel Ewing's Sarcoma Fund, will be present at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia where he received treatment as well.
I have started this fund as a two-part project. I want to honor him by continuing to donate to pediatric cancer patients, but also by providing support to other families impacted by Ewing's Sarcoma. Therefore, 50% of the funds raised will be donated to the Sunrise on Wheels program at CHOP. This will enable them to purchase toys, books, crafts etc for cancer patients to enjoy with their siblings and family. The remaining 50% will be donated to the family of Ewing's Sarcoma patients to relieve any burden they may be going through whether that's transportation costs from commuting to receive treatment, or food expenses.
The world has gone through a lot, especially with the pandemic. We are all going to live a "new- norm," whether that's socially distancing at family hangouts, or wearing a mask practically every where we go. My goal through this initiative is to raise awareness around Ewing's Sarcoma, and provide more insight on the daily life of a cancer patient and their family. This has always been their normal. Please consider donating to this initiative as it will help touch the lives of many.
