Hi, I'm Gem. I'm writing this right now feeling confused, panicked, and scared. My cat, Zucchini, is a cute and gentle male cat. Almost everyone who meets him loves him, and he's especially my companion. I'm just a student studying abroad in Canada, and I thought I'd be alone forever. Then one day he came along and became my companion. I can't live without him; he's there to comfort me when I'm sick, weak, or hurt. He gives me motivation. But now, that source of motivation is in critical condition and needs treatment. On the night of December 25th, at 1:30 AM, he started having diarrhea, frequent bowel movements, restlessness, and pain. I thought he was constipated and planned to take him the next morning, but things happened so quickly. He refused to eat or drink, even groaning when I touched him. Then I discovered Zucchini had passed something that looked like intestinal fluid, and it soaked his lower body. I panicked and rushed him to the hospital around 4:30 a.m., crying and praying he wasn't sick, but that was impossible. After more than two hours of examination, the doctor advised that he was in pain, struggling to defecate, and he started breathing heavily and vomiting. Zucchini needed blood tests and X-rays because they weren't sure if his symptoms were from food or from swallowing a foreign object. He might need surgery, and of course, he would have to stay in the hospital. Now there's another problem: hospital bills could reach 3000-3500 CAD. But right now I only have about 500 CAD, which is all the food money for the two of us this month. Luckily, the doctor at that hospital didn't charge for consultation and helped me find a new hospital with lower costs, but I'm not sure I can save him with only 500 CAD in my account. I've cried a lot since yesterday, and my friend suggested I create an account to receive donations. I hope to receive help and save my companion.
