Most of you know Karsyn's background and the hardships she has had to endure in her 4 years of life... Everything from the two liver transplants, to contracting PTLD (post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorder) and needing chemo to fight it, to the constant battles of needing to be hospitalized for different things, sometimes for as simple as a cold.
Well this time is not too different as Karsyn, as of last Sunday (12/20), she has been put in the hospital for pneumonia (and still trying to figure out some of the other things currently going on). We were hoping that this was a "normal" visit were she would get a few doses of IV antibiotics over the course of a couple of days and be sent home. It has quickly became that she can't break this fever and will not be let go until she does so for more than 24 hours. They are also running labs and x-rays to stay current with her condition, so we will have to see there... and will be sure to keep everyone up to date on her FB (https://www.facebook.com/KarsynsKause).
This is where we need your help! I (dad) have been working and even been trying to bring in side money, while Erica (mom) has not left Karsyn's side. With that said, Erica does not have full benefits with her job and so when she doesn't work, she doesn't get paid. Her job is great in the fact that they are there for us and allow Erica to take such time off, but the fact remains that we are losing a vital part of our income from week to week while being there for the care and comfort of our beautiful little girl.
We do not know when our sweet girl will be released but I set the "goal" for roughly 2 weeks of the funds we will be losing. This will ensure that we will be covered for this week and next... and God allowing, that if Karsyn does get out in the next few days, will allow us to spend some holiday time together without the fear of not being covered for bills, food and/or medical expenses for Karsyn.
We know that being so close to Christmas, most are already financially “tied” and we are still very grateful for all prayers and happy thoughts headed in Karsyn’s direction. We thank each and every one of you in advance for reading this and wish you a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
God bless,
-Karsyn & Family
