Treatment for Tamara

Hello there friends. You may not know me but I have been friends with Tamara a.k.a. Tammy since we waitressed together in New York in 1988. I have seen her shine and be extremely successful in her career and then I have also seen her struggle at times, particualrly as of late. You may or may not know my sister, Carolyn, whom Tamara brings to Denver every year so that she can see her family. Carolyn has infantile autism and Tamara has been gracious enough to travel with her so that she can see us. Carolyn lives in home in Massachusetts and my parents and I moved out to Colorado some years ago. Tamara does this not only because she loves me but because she loves Carolyn. When I think of this I cry. There are not many people I know who have this in their heart.
You may or may not also know that Tamara was diagnosed with Acute Lyme disease and an immune deficiency over the summer. She could no longer do her job because of the strenuous physical activity, she and is now, fortunately, starting a new role in December that requires much less physical movement. She is now focused on treatment for both of these issues. She starts a new plasma treatment for her immunoglobulin issues in December and is still actively treating her Lyme. Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, insurance does not pay for essential components of this treatment (Lyme doc visits and supplements are not covered), and this has put Tamara in a financial pickle. At my insistence we are creating a go fund me page in order to help her get access to treatment that will be effective and permit her not only to have the life she deserves but to support and contribute her talents, energy and gifts to the world around her. I will be overseeing and administering the funds to help her. She is extremely uncomfortable being in this place and asking for assistance, but, as her friend, I am hoping that she can get back to “normal" (anyone who has met her knows she will never be quite normal ) and be herself again to shine and be involved in her community and with her friends. Any amount is helpful and would be greatly appreciated to help her get back on her feet. If you have any questions at all please contact me or Tamara. Again this is not an easy request but I have insisted that she has people that love her and would help her. I hope that’s you.
