Back to a Life

Hi, my name is Penny, I am fundraising for my husband Glen. June 1, 2023 was the last day that he worked, the last day that he drove. Glen has been stricken with symptoms that prevent him from…well, doing almost anything. His symptoms of imbalance, dizziness, migraines, to name a few, have kept him from working and from performing almost anything else. At first he could periodically do a few things at home, vacuuming, cooking and so on. As of late, on most days, all he can do is go from chair to bathroom or out to the vehicle. Just prior to June 1st Glen had started a new job so there is no Short-term disability, no unemployment benefits to be had and zero help from our state or government. My work has cut my hours back to 40, no overtime makes it incredibly difficult to afford gas back and forth to work, gas to go to all the different appointments, pay bills, keep our home and forget about groceries. The doctors, specialists and ER bills are piling up. We would like to go to The Mayo Clinic for answers but our finances will not allow us to drive there not to mention me not making a paycheck while having to be gone. Glen has worked his entire life and wants nothing more than to go back to work. We are in search of answers to why this is happening and what the cause is. So many doctors, so many medical tests and no answers. Social Security Disability seems to want you to become homeless and hire an attorney before any help will come to us.
