(It cost approximately $12,000+ a year to run the wildlife rehabilitation and approximately $8,000+ to run the domestic Rescue.)
Hi I'm Julie McLaughlin founder of Indiana Skunk Rescue, Don't let the name fool you, I'm also Hendricks County's only wildlife rehabilitator I merely specialize in skunks. I also help orphaned and injured opossums, whitetail deer and foxes just to name a few species.
Rehabilitators do not get any financial support from the state, we need generous people like yourself to help these orphan/injured babies grow up and be released back into the wild where they belong. Rehabilitators and exotic animal rescues also get no help from the big pet store chains that give free food and supplies to rescues. When we ask we get told it is not financially in their best interest to help us as the majority of their clientele are cat and dog owners. Without your support they would die, because we have little resources for help other than yourself.
I helped over 200 animals this year. (2021)
