Las Vegas House Fire!
On Saturday August 29, Lisa Peppe Folkestad was driving when her home cameras’ motion detector sent a notification to her phone. There was a FIRE!
She immediately called 911 dispatch and explained there was fire and someone was in the house.
Marty Jacobs (86 yrs old), was being cared for by Lisa. Marty spent the majority of his time visiting with friends and telling stories of Las Vegas in the good ole’ days. Marty was a legend. He made a name for himself working at the Fremont Hotel back in the day They knew him as “The crazy kid from Brooklyn.”
Marty lived an awesome long life, and on Saturday he passed away due to smoke inhalation at his Las Vegas home.
Marty Jacobs was a kind-hearted man full of integrity. He was a man loved by all who met him, only because he loved them first. Shawn Folkestad knew that all to well as Marty was like a grandfather to him. Marty Jacobs will forever be remembered for his big smile and even bigger heart.
The fire hit their Vegas home, and in a matter of minutes it was gone.
Because of how swift the fire moved on Saturday, Lisa and Shawn Folkestad, who lived with Marty were left with nothing. Fortunately they had home owners insurance; unfortunately their immediate provisions are not provided for.
Please pray for all involved in this horrible experience.
We are asking for your help to get this family back on their feet as they rebuild from the ashes.
