To start;
Evie the Japanese chin is a fighter. ..

Evie turned 1 year old on the 12th of January 2016, although she was born with a condition called Portosystemic shunts (Liver shunts). A portosystemic shunt (PSS) or liver shunt is a condition where the normal flow of blood, to and through the liver, is markedly reduced or absent. This causes the blood to bypass the liver. Without adequate blood flow to the liver, the puppy's body cannot thrive.

When blood is shunted around the liver rather than to and through it, the liver is not able to perform its many important tasks and therefore, metabolic wastes such as ammonia, reach unhealthy levels in the animal and threaten the dog's health.

Evie was been suffering from this condition and was misdiagnosed many times by vets until she was surrendered into the care of Stephanie at Little Spaniel Rescue - Japanese Chin last year. Miraciously surgeons have said she is an amazing little chin and will be a great candidate for surgery. In order to save Evie's life and adopt her into a wonderful fur-ever home she needs to have the surgery to close the shunts in her liver. We have been given a slight discount from the specialists @ Advanced Vetcare and are seeking the Chin Loving communties support to make this happen.
