Help for Evie's TiMbandAir Helmet Treatment
Donation protected
This is our beautiful rainbow baby, Evie. She is 7 months old, has started to roll (with speed!), can almost sit up by herself and has a smile that could light up a whole room.
From around 3 months old, we noticed that her head was starting to flatten at the back (as she loves sleeping on her back, but never her side). We had asked at every weigh-in/check-up if her head shape was ok, to which health care professionals had said: "it would sort itself out over time."
Fast forward to her being 6 months old, we went to the GP, as we were still worried and Evie's head was getting flatter. The GP advised that she has brachycephaly (a form of flat head syndrome), which the NHS doesn't fund, and that we would have to go to a private clinic to correct this.
We've had a consultation with a private specialist, who has confirmed that Evie would need a 'TiMbandAir' helmet to recorrect her head shape as it's in the severe range. If left untreated, both moderate and severe cases of brachycephaly can affect facial features, jaw alignment and protruding ears, leading to low self-esteem or being bullied in later life. Treatment is usually recommended to start at 4 months of age however, Evie is now 7 months old. We have also been advised that she will need to wear this helmet for 6-8 months, if not longer.
Therefore, we kindly ask for any contribution to help with Evie's 'TiMbandAir' helmet so that she can start treatment as soon as possible.
