HI Everyone,
A friend of mine mentioned that I might want to expand my story and better explain what it is I am fund raising for. The beginning of my story stays the same. I was injured in a car accident in 2012 when she when was 4 years old. My mommy and I were stopped at a light when someone ran the light and hit us almost head on. After spending many months in two different hospitals. I came home to my current house as a quadriplegic, unable to do anything for myself without assistance. I am 9 years old now and I spend my days going to Scholl and working very hard alongside doctors, therapists and family, with the hope of recovery. Unfortunately, the one large obstacle I cannot overcome is my current house.
My family and I live in a quad level home with no built-in assistance for a young lady in my condition. I am currently able to use a powerchair with a HEAD control to move myself around, but I cannot use that chair in my current house as there is no room for it and no wheelchair access within the home. My family must pick me up and carry me from level to level. Our current home was also unmodifiable.
We worked for two years with a very dear friend who is a realtor trying to find a house we could buy and modify. However, between the cost of a home that is the size I need and the costs in general to modify a house we were unable to find one. Our next option was to build one for me. We did find some land and hired an architect who has also become a good family friend.
Our plans are completed and we are talking to contractors. However, the costs of the new house are coming in higher than we expected.
I am looking for the help of everyone who reads this campaign to please donate what you can so we can finish the house I need to live a normal life for myself. Any amount you can donate will help.
The house we are building will allow me to grow up and become as independent as a person in my position can be and will accommodate for additional updates as they are needed to make my life easier and continue to be independent.
and will accomodate for additional updates as they are needed to make my life easier and continue to be independant.
