Eviction Threat: Help Haley and Her Children
Donación protegida
Hello everyone, my name is Haley, and I am reaching out to complete this fundraiser to collect funds to ensure a roof over my babies' heads. I lost my job in October 2024 due to severe illness. My primary care provider and I believed it was merely a reaction to the depo shot I received. However, it turned out I was pregnant while on the depo shot at the same time. It was difficult for me to function at work, let alone manage daily tasks in general. I then began working on my recertification with housing to prepare everything for the upcoming year and submitted all necessary documentation. I made sure to communicate everything with my counselor upfront. However, she suggested that I did not report my income to her after my pregnancy leave (I gave birth on 04/04/2024 and returned from leave on 07/09/2024). After numerous emails and recorded phone calls, I was still terminated from housing, even though I kept everyone informed about what was happening, so starting on 03/01/2025, I had to manage utilities and rent. That is fine; I do DoorDash on the side while searching for a full-time job. I was depending on my taxes, but they were put on hold until 06/22/2025, marked as under review. When I was informed about paying rent, I immediately contacted my landlord to explain my situation, and they reassured me that as long as I paid before the end of the month, I wouldn't have to worry about eviction since I started a new job on 03/10/2025 and would get paid on 03/31/2025. However, today I was in the middle of training and checked my phone to find an eviction letter stating they would proceed with the eviction. I then called the landlord, and they told me that whoever informed me that I shouldn’t worry lied, and I needed to pay, or I would be removed from the home. It is already challenging for me as I am experiencing a high-risk pregnancy (I am due to give birth on 05/16/2025). I am struggling to cover utilities and rent altogether. My car is already scheduled for repossession, my water is due for disconnection, and now my rent is subject to eviction. I don't mind going without water as long as my babies have a roof over their heads and lights on at home. I have tried asking family for help, but no one is able to assist. I am begging for help at this moment; I truly have no one else, and I am running out of options. Anything helps.
