Siamo Duccio e Mimma Trassinelli , fondatori di “ La Macina di San Cresci” un’associazione culturale e residenza per artisti a Greve in Chianti ( Firenze).
Questo luogo è una risorsa al servizio del Comune di Greve in Chianti , abbiamo realizzato molti progetti per la valorizzazione del territorio, ed è uno spazio di incontro, ispirazione e condivisione per la comunità internazionale degli artisti.

Abitiamo e lavoriamo da trenta anni nello storico complesso della Pieve di San Cresci a Montefioralle.
Nel 1991, quando la Diocesi di Fiesole ce lo ha affittato, era in stato di completo degrado e a rischio di crollo. Lo abbiamo salvato, mantenuto e curato, con passione, impegno e costante dedizione.

Lo abbiamo restaurato, impiegando lavoro e molte risorse economiche; per il restauro delle ex-cantine, oggi laboratorio degli artisti, abbiamo speso circa € 260.000, oltre la manutenzione straordinaria sull’intero immobile, effettuata per più di 25 anni.
Non abbiamo mai richiesto questo denaro alla Diocesi, perché c’era un rapporto di interesse reciproco: la Diocesi si è ritrovata un immobile restaurato con una funzione culturale, noi abbiamo avuto la possibilità di vivere qui, e realizzare il sogno di dedicare all’arte questo incantevole posto, e aprirlo agli artisti di tutto il mondo.
Poi è arrivato un Parroco, che non ha mai voluto conoscere questa bella storia e, in piena pandemia, senza dialogo e senza remore, ci ha inviato uno sfratto.
Stiamo già sostenendo molte spese legali, e da due anni senza risorse economiche per la pandemia.
Dobbiamo difenderci, perché questa faccenda è grave, ingiusta e soprattutto immorale.
Non possiamo credere di essere considerati solo merce “usa e getta”.
Non possiamo permettere di ritrovarci per strada, non possiamo permettere che venga chiusa una residenza per artisti, non possiamo permettere che il nostro lavoro vada perduto, non possiamo permettere che la cultura soccomba a interessi di lucro.
Qualsiasi contributo sarà un aiuto prezioso, aiutateci a portare avanti la nostra battaglia.
Abbiamo già speso molto denaro, perché da tempo il Parroco sta perseguendo la volontà di sfrattarci. Per difenderci da tale iniziativa il problema legale è complesso ed articolato e in questo periodo, le nostre finanze sono molto ridotte anche per la mancanza di lavoro a causa della pandemia. La residenza è comunque aperta e funzionante.
Abbiamo avuto il bisogno di coinvolgere un team di quattro avvocati; loro devono lavorare bene e fare tutti i passi necessari ;dobbiamo incaricare dei periti e pagare dei consulenti .
Se vinceremo e le spese legali saranno a noi rimborsate , con quel denaro faremo delle borse di studio per giovani artisti, organizzeremo delle mostre e realizzeremo un libro con i dettagli di questa lunga vicenda e riporteremo i nomi di tutti coloro ( se vorranno) che ci hanno aiutato e che credono nella giustizia

We are Duccio and Mimma Trassinelli, founders of "La Macina di San Cresci" a cultural association and residence for artists in Greve in Chianti (Florence).
This place is a resource at the service of the town of Greve in Chianti, we have carried out many projects for the enhancement of the territory, and it is a space for meeting, inspiration and sharing for the international community of artists.

We have been living and working for thirty years in the historic complex of the Pieve di San Cresci in Montefioralle.
In 1991, when the Diocese of Fiesole rented it to us, it was in a state of complete decay and at risk of collapse. We have saved, maintained and cared for it, with passion, commitment and constant dedication.

We have restored it, using work and a lot of money; for the restoration of the former cellars, now the artists' studio, we spent about € 260,000, plus extraordinary maintenance on the entire property, carried out for more than 25 years.
We never requested this money to the Diocese, because there was a relationship of mutual interest: the Diocese found itself a restored building with a cultural function, we had the opportunity to live here and realize the dream of dedicating this lovely place to art, and open it to artists from all over the world.
Then a parish priest arrived, who never wanted to know this beautiful story and, in the midst of the pandemic, without dialogue and without hesitation, sent us an eviction.
We are already incurring many legal costs, and for two years without economic resources for the pandemic.
We must defend ourselves, because this matter is serious, unjust and above all immoral.
We cannot believe that we are considered only "disposable" goods.
We cannot allow to find ourselves on the street, we cannot allow a residence for artists to be closed, we cannot allow our work to be lost, we cannot allow culture to succumb to profit-making interests.
Any contribution will be a precious help, help us to carry on our battle.
