eviCore Hurricane Employee Relief

Donation protected

We are eviCore healthcare and we'd like to share the impact of Hurricane Matthew on our employees located in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.

On Thursday, October 6, Hurricane Matthew roared up the eastern coast of Florida, leaving many of our Florida-based employees without power, flooded and one home was lost to fire. In the early hours of Saturday, October 7, Hurricane Matthew reached the barrier islands of the Southeast, causing devastation when part of the eyewall crossed into the southern section of South Carolina. Hurricane Matthew’s tornadoes, storm surge flooding, and powerful winds wreaked havoc on those who live in the areas of Savannah, Georgia, Beaufort, and Jasper counties within South Carolina.   Many in those communities suffered immense tree damage (blocking road access, damaging homes), and nearly all were (or remain) without power. These individuals and families face severe water or tree damage to homes and property, with thousands of dollars in repairs.

We are immensely grateful that all our employees and families survived Hurricane Matthew. However, following the hurricane many of our employees face financial hardships, ranging from money needed to replace spoiled food, to thousands of dollars needed to remove trees and repair roofs, drywall, etc. Without power, many employees are unable to work remotely, and without transportation they are at risk of losing their financial stability.

During this time of crisis eviCore has supported our employees in several ways, including the continuation of wages for 5 days; providing child care when school was cancelled; and furnishing lunch, lodging, and transportation during the immediate aftermath of the storm. We are continuing to reach out and support colleagues in need during this time. Additionally, our two Bluffton buildings served as temporary relief centers Friday through Sunday for the town of Bluffton’s staff and emergency responders, providing shelter as well as necessary utilities such as power, water, phone and internet.

Many eviCore employees across the country have asked how they can help team members in their time of need. We have received generous offers to help repair/rebuild homes and offers of financial donations. It is inspiring to hear from so many of you wishing to help colleagues who are suffering.

Any team member who is in need can submit a form to the PRC detailing the damage or loss endured.  Applications will be reviewed, in confidence, and funds will be distributed as needed. The HR committee will request photos or proof of need to determine eligibility.

For those generous employees who were not personally impacted by the storm but want to help, eviCore will match your donated dollars. Any funds unused after 90 days will be donated on behalf of the eviCore team to the Community Foundation of the LowCountry (Hurricane Matthew), which is the organization of record to receive donations for disaster recovery and rebuilding in Beaufort, Jasper, Hampton, and Colleton Counties of South Carolina.

Thank you for your outstanding response so far in helping your colleagues in need. Any donation of money, regardless of the amount, can help provide food, shelter, and assistance for the many who are suffering right now.
