Help Leanne, Pat, Hayley, Hayden & Bella After the Fire

In a matter of minutes, a devastating house fire changed everything for Leanne, Pat, Hayley, Hayden, and their loved dog Bella. Their family home of nearly 20 years, where 3 generations lived and countless memories were made, is gone.

But their greatest loss is one that no amount of money could ever replace.

Tragically, despite Pat’s courageous efforts to save him, Leanne’s father, Tom, lovingly known as Papa, was unable to make it out of the home.

Anyone who knows Pat knows he’s one of the biggest Notre Dame Fighting Irish fans you’ll ever meet. And that night, he truly fought like the Irish, giving everything he had to try to save his father in law, while making sure the rest of his family got to safety.

Pat suffered serious injuries and remains in critical condition, but there is hope for his recovery. While the family grieves the loss of their Dad/ Papa, they are holding on to that hope that Pat will fully recover.

The family lost virtually everything in the fire, escaping with barely more than the clothes on their backs. To put that into perspective, I had to go home just to get Leanne a pair of pants. They are now faced with rebuilding their lives while also making sure Bella has the care and essentials she needs.

A Family That Has Always Been There for Others

Leanne and Pat are well-known and deeply respected in the Barrie community.

Pat is one of the hardest working providers you’ll ever meet, always willing to lend a hand. Leanne has a heart big enough for everyone and is known for loving other people’s children as though they were her own.

Whether you’re a close friend, neighbour, or complete stranger, they’re the kind of people who would be the first to step up and help.

They’ve always been there for others. Now it’s our turn to be there for them.

The Things Money Can’t Replace

We don’t yet know whether any of Leanne’s treasured photographs and scrapbooks or Pat’s prized Notre Dame football memorabilia and collectibles can be salvaged.

If you know Leanne, you know how much she loves capturing life’s special moments, not just for her own family, but for everyone around her.

She’s spent years creating beautiful scrapbooks and memory books filled with birthdays, milestones, and childhood memories. I know firsthand how special these are because she’s created books filled with memories of my own daughter, moments we could never recreate.

These are the things that hold a value far beyond money, and the thought of losing them is heartbreaking.

We’re asking our friends, family, and the Barrie community to come together and support Leanne, Pat, Hayley, Hayden, and Bella during this incredibly difficult time.

Financial donations will help with clothing, groceries, temporary accommodations, household essentials, pet supplies, and the overwhelming costs of starting over.
