All Is Better When We Take Care of Each Other

If you have had the good fortune of meeting the Stones, you understand that they live life to the fullest and love the people they meet wholeheartedly. To say that Chris has a passion for all life entails would be an understatement. Chris inspires everyone around him to live passionately as well. He shows compassion, love and awesome humour in every interaction.
Chris is an avid marathon runner and his passion has taken him and ally all over the world. He is his own biggest competitor and trains hard.
Last February while in japan for the Tokyo Marathon Chris got sick. Ally knew something was wrong when chris’ memory got so bad that he couldn’t remember running in the marathon that day, though he had beaten his personal best. When he was having trouble recognizing his surroundings and remembering what they were doing they knew they had to get home.
Doctors and specialists alike thought that Chris had a flu which turned into encephalitis, and Chris would have 6-8 weeks before he regained his short term memory. Almost a year to the date and they have realized this is not the case. Chris went through intense physical and mental rehab at Edmonton’s Glenrose facility and continued to have issues.
The stones have been through everything, while in their nature keeping the most positive attitudes at the hardest times. Progress was slow and frustrating as you can only imagine.
Their is light on the horizon for this beautiful couple. Doctors agreed maybe the original diagnosis was wrong and they needed to switch gears. Chris and Ally have the opportunity to visit Portland’s Northwestern Functional Neurology clinic with Dr Glen Zielinski a board certified functional neurologist.
No one should have to put a price on their health and well being. Living in canada this is something we believe strongly, people should be taken care of without the added burden of worrying about the price tag associated with treatment.
This trip and treatment comes at a cost of around $25000. This is what we would like to raise in order to alleviate the stress for this couple who has touched so many people.
Last year when Ally thought Chris would be well into recovery by now she used her travel credits to book a trip to Hawaii, and their doctor agrees, keeping this trip after his treatment in Oregon is a blessing for both of them and we want to make sure nothing is lost because of this great opportunity.
As the Stones give back to friends and strangers alike on a daily basis we would like to do the same for them. If you have met them you have experienced their love and humanity. If you want to help, we are asking that you do so by contributing to funds for Chris trip and treatment in Portland or signing up for one of the events we are putting on!
Any amount goes a long way when people come together!
Thank you for taking the time to read about Chris, it’s so clear that people make the world beautiful
