Thank you for visiting the GoFundMe site for the film "Every Ride Is For You." This film showcases the empowering relationship between women and horses through the lens of three extraordinary women – my mother Oma, my sister Carol, and my niece Logan.
This will be a special film, but we have a ways to go before it is finished. As we head into post-production, we are inviting those who knew and loved Carol, and who know and love Logan, to help.
Any amount is welcome and appreciated, and helps us to reach our goal. All contributors will receive a pre-release link to view the film online, or if you prefer, a DVD.
THE STORY
Horses. Freedom. Women.
A grandmother, a mother, a daughter.
Carol Weisheimer Bearden (my youngest sister) was an independent woman who loved with fierce devotion. She loved her family, her husband Chris, her daughter Logan, and she loved her horses.
Logan Bearden (my niece) is following in her mother’s footsteps. Strong, independent, determined.
Oma is Logan’s grandmother, and Carol’s mother. She’s my mom, too.
Three generations. Three extraordinary women. This is their story.
It is a story about the relationship between women and a creature of near mythical power and beauty. It’s a story of love, and loss, and getting back in the saddle after being dumped hard -- by a buck you never saw coming. It’s about connection beyond anything that can be explained.
THE FUNDS
“Every Ride is for You” is a special film, but we have a ways to go before it is finished. As we head into post-production, we are inviting those who knew and loved Carol, and who know and love Logan, to help.
- Editor: Film editing is an art and we’ve hired an artist.
- Music: The score is coming together - it’s beautiful, and we need to pay the composer & musicians.
- Additional footage and interview: All of the (amazing) camera work so far has been pro bono, but we need to hire a videographer in South Carolina to capture a few more shots.
- LOGAN: Once we have the funds for the above expenses, all additional proceeds will go to Logan as she remakes Poplar Place Stables (the business) with her partner, Justin. Carol would be pleased to know that her friends are supporting Logan in this way.
If you are on this page, you likely already know Logan, or have a friend who knows Logan. Which means you knew Carol. Maybe you took lessons from one of them when you were a pony-clubber, or your daughter did, which means you also know Oma.
It’s a tough time to ask for money, but then tough never stopped Carol, Logan or Oma. Please help to get this film completed, and to help Logan take Poplar Place to new heights.
When finished, this film will run about 20-25 minutes. All contributors will receive a pre-release link to view the film online, or if you prefer, a DVD. We will submit it to film festivals throughout the world, especially ones that showcase unstoppable women making their way.
