Greenmount Station's bar manager, Casey Skipper, has been my dearest friend for 20+ years. 
He will never be the one to ask for anything...but I will for him.
He may be a resident of Hanover, PA but anywhere we go Casey knows someone. He has been so loved by friends over the years. Friends from 20 years ago or people he met yesterday. In Hampstead, MD he is known best by all his loyal customers at Greenmount Station. He is a light people tend to follow.
Tragedy has struck his life at this moment. Covid is doing its best to diminish all his brightness. Right now, the ICU is where he calls home.
After 2 attempts of reaching for help through the hospital, it was on the 3rd time they took him in. His nails turning blue from pneumonia was the turning point of acceptance. For over a week now his temperature has fluctuated from 105 to 103 and back without relief. At the moment, he is receiving plasma from previous covid survivors, with going home not in sight.
At the moment speaking on the phone is not even possible. Texting only (he is no long able to contact) and thats when he feels well enough to respond. The medications have him tired and worn.
Rylo, his black and white cat, is the love of Casey's life. He enjoys the outdoors. A good day is hiking, canoeing or just a bonfire outback. He is the favorite to each person he knows and has a loyal following of friends.
With his strength there is always hope of a full recovery. To Casey's dismay Rylo refuses to get a job. While he has the love and support of his family to help him through any hard time, his friends feel the need to contribute as well. Being out of work right now is tough... even harder when you don't know the outcome of the next day.
The holidays are upon us. I would love nothing more than to have him home with his family. That may not happen. Times are tough for many, but the littlest amount WILL make the difference. His friends would like to raise as much as we can to help him in this hard time and provide one less worry. If funds are not possible for you, please reach out to your higher power and throw a word in for him. Let's blow the top off and show him we love him!
