Everyone Deserves a Headstone

For those of you that don't know me and don't know my story, I lost my husband, the father of my kids, when he and I were in a horrible car accident in June 2012. My whole life was changed in an instant.
One of the most important things that I did after he passed away was to buy him a headstone. Until you've lost someone close to you you have no idea what it means to do that for them.
I have made it my mission, in different ways, to try and make a difference in the lives of people who have lost someone that they love. I do this in honor of my husband.
It has been on my heart for the last two years to start a nonprofit organization that helps people (who can't afford it) purchase a headstone for their loved one. The process of starting a nonprofit is an overwhelming one and can take a lot of time. I have started the process but need to begin raising funds as I have chosen the first recipient. I want so badly to tell the full story because it is a pretty amazing one, but the recipient is not aware of what I'm doing and I want it to be a surprise. I will tell you a little bit though so you can get an idea of where your gift would be going.
I was recently made aware of a young girl and her incredible story.
She just recently found out some devastating news. Her entire family lost their lives when she was just a baby. She didn't know. Until now.
One of her parents doesn't have a headstone. This is not okay! So, it is my goal to raise the money to give to her so she can go and pick out a headstone. I need your help!
One last thing ...
When I have raised $3000 and I am ready to present it to her, I want to also give her messages from the people who helped make this gift possible. You! So please, after you donate, write a little message directed toward this young lady. I will put it on a poster that she will receive at the same time I present her with this gift.
There is more to this story. I am not able to share it at this time but I promise, when the money is raised, I will share it at that time.
