Just a short while ago, life was completely normal for our brave little Elsie. But over the past few months, things slowly began to change.

Elsie started developing unexplained bruises, and she seemed to be constantly unwell. She suffered repeated chest infections and illness after illness as her immune system became weaker and weaker. Despite multiple trips to the doctors and hospital, no one yet knew the underlying cause.

Then everything changed.

One day, Elsie suddenly lost the proper use of her legs and suffered a fracture. When she was admitted to the children’s hospital for further tests, our family’s world was turned upside down. Elsie was diagnosed with leukaemia.

Within just 24 hours of receiving this devastating diagnosis, Elsie had already undergone two blood transfusions and a plasma transfusion. She has now started chemotherapy and is beginning the biggest fight of her young life.

As you can imagine, this diagnosis has turned everyday life upside down. Chemotherapy means frequent hospital appointments, treatments, and long journeys to ensure Elsie receives the care she needs. The financial impact of travel quickly adds up, especially while trying to focus entirely on supporting Elsie through her treatment.

We’re setting up this GoFundMe to help ease some of that burden.
