A Day That Changed My Life Forever

My name is Mahmoud Al-Khatib, a young man from Gaza . Like many around the world, I had dreams. I studied law, became a lawyer, and proudly stood up as a defender of human rights.

But one morning, everything changed. I awoke to a living nightmare — war had begun. My home was destroyed. I had to flee with my entire family, carrying only what was left of our lives.

I lost my beloved brother... and with his passing, I became responsible for his children, my sick mother, and the rest of my family.

Our journey since then has been filled with displacement, hunger, fear, and homelessness. We face a slow, silent death — one that crushes the spirit and leaves deep scars on the soul.

What we've seen, no one should have to see. What we've lived, no one should ever have to endure.
