About This Fundraiser
“Every mikkle mek a mukkle.” - a Jamaican proverb meaning: Every little bit adds up to a lot.
Hi, my name is Danielle Foster, my Husband Carlton and I reside in Innisfil, Ontario, Canada. We are raising funds for friends and family in Westmoreland and St. Elizabeth area of Jamaica, where the hurricane hit hardest. Giving relief to those whose lives have been devastated by Hurricane Melissa.
The storm tore through their communities, leaving nothing but heartbreak and rubble behind. We are so thankful that all of our immediate family members are safe — only a few minor injuries — but the destruction is overwhelming.
On Carlton’s mom’s side alone, seven homes have been completely destroyed. Two of his sisters, two uncles, and his step-grandfather are now homeless. Auntie’s roof is gone, and everything inside her home has been ruined. Even the home Carlton built with his own two hands as a teenager — filled with years of memories — has been flattened.
Carlton’s dad, who lives in St. Elizabeth, has also lost half his roof and suffered major damage to his home.
Our family has lost nearly everything: clothing, furniture, and cherished belongings — all gone within hours. Still, we are giving thanks for life and holding onto faith.
The funds raised will go directly toward:
Rebuilding and repairing homes damaged or destroyed by Hurricane Melissa
Replacing essential items such as clothing, furniture, and household necessities
Providing safe shelter and immediate relief.
So, As we say back home, “Every mikkle mek a mukkle.” - Every little bit adds up to a lot.
Every prayer, every share, every donation — no matter how small — helps rebuild lives and brings hope back to our family and community. Letting them know they are NOT alone.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so very much for standing with us as we rebuild. ❤️
