EVERY LITTLE HELPS for a BELOVED DAD and GRANDPA
Donation protected
It is with a very heavy heart that I am currently here in Gofundme page, making a plea for a personal loved one. Me and Jeanne are both immigrant nurses by profession serving the the UK's wonderful NHS one day at a time and looking after our little firecracker Sadie on our alternate days. We are reaching out to everyone especially friends and those who know us to extend some help in this very distressing period for the both sides of the family.
Jeanne's dad, as I have known him all throughout these years, has been living the healthiest yet modest lifestyle-even better than me. He does not smoke, gets up from bed at around 6ish in the morning

to jog and ride his bike religiously and retires to sleep by 8 in the evening. This dedication-combined with a meticulously crafted diet of mostly fish and vegetables, would normally be enough to warrant him and us who loves him the peace of mind that is his health.
July 15 of last month, he was admitted in the hospital for sudden unexplained abdominal pain and vomiting. They did all the necessary protocols-scans, all the appropriate diagnostics available to figure out what was happening. It was then found out after a few days that he developed intestinal adhesions and small bowel obstructions with unknown etiology. He had his first major surgery shortly.
August 11 of this month, unprepared as we were all are, I have sent off Jeanne and Sadie to the airport to no avail as things are not looking well.
Since being diagnosed, he has had 4 major open surgeries, several drains and tubes poked in his body, countless blood transfusions just to keep his blood levels on the borderline-all of this in a span of 1 and half month. The team of doctors and the whole medical team are doing their utmost best to grant him back the life he deserves. He is currently in the critical care unit again as his breathing cannot be sustained without the use of a ventilator for now. We are still awaiting major updates from the medical team on the next steps.

Medical bills from hospitalisations and procedures in the Philippines will break you in half no matter how much money you have saved. Literally. The hospital bill from the the time he was admitted up the current time was beyond 2 million PHP/£28,000+- - this does not even cover all the involved doctor's professional fees. Generoso has a health insurance we paid for years ago for this sort of scenario but as fate decided to reroute for this very time we needed it-it was nowhere to be used due to funding issues.
For our colleagues and acquaintances here in the UK-be thankful for the conception of the NHS.
It is gonna be long, difficult road to recovery even once Jeanne's dad is out of the woods. We appreciated the time reading this post and as we have mentioned, every little helps please as much as prayers and thoughts in this trying times. May the good Lord bless us all. xx
Donors who might be in the Philippines can send so straight to Jeanne’s sister account in GCASH Joanna Marie Calma 09985662868 ❤️
