Every Little Bit Helps: Support Tilly’s Fight for Answers

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out today with a heavy heart to share about my sweet dog, Tilly. Tilly is a two-year-old Corgi who has been a joyful, loving part of my life — she’s regularly vetted, well cared for, and brings so much happiness and love into our home. She’s not just a pet; she’s my heart, my companion, my family.

But this past weekend, everything changed.

Out of nowhere, Tilly began having seizures — something we could never have seen coming. We rushed her back and forth to Mason Dixon Animal Hospital over the weekend, trying different medications and doing everything possible to help her. Despite these efforts, the seizures are still not controlled, and the medications so far haven’t stopped them.

This has been an incredibly stressful and emotional time — watching Tilly go through this has been heartbreaking and terrifying. To move forward, Tilly will now need specialized veterinary care, including visits to a neurologist in the coming weeks to figure out the underlying cause and adjust her treatment plan.

On top of all of this, Tilly will now need to take two different medications every 12 hours for the rest of her life. That alone is a huge challenge, as I work in healthcare and often have 12-hour shifts, making it difficult to always be home to give her the night doses. We will likely need to outsource help — bringing in someone to assist with giving her medications when we are working, adding another layer of responsibility and cost during an already overwhelming time.

We never imagined we would be facing something like this, and the costs for Tilly’s care — now and into the future — have quickly become more than we can handle alone.

If you know Tilly, you know how much she means to me. She’s the sweetest little spirit, and I would do anything to give her the chance at a healthy, happy life.
