Lisa Webb is raising money for Every Life Matters, Mind - In - Furness and Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in memory of her nephew Kyle Wray Goddard, who died age 22.
Funds will be split equally between the three charities and proof will be given as always!
As October is also World Mental Health Awareness Month, Lisa and her daughter
Leomme are doing lisa’s yearly mammoth 15-mile walk through Barrow and Walney ending at the Tally Ho pub on Schneider Road where Kyle liked to have a drink!
A map and planned stops are available to view in the pictures.
People can join at certain points in memory of their own loved ones. (Everyone is welcome)
Lisa said: "Kyle got cancer in 2021 and beat it in 2022 but his mental health deteriorated and he took his own life on October 14, 2022.
"I want to raise money for Every Life Matters as they helped me mentally with counselling, peer group meetings and talking to others that lost loved ones by suicide. Also Clatterbridge Cancer Care unit in Liverpool that did Kyle’s treatment and mind for the help they gave Kyle when he was in need also!”
"I decided if I can just help that one person it would be worth it, even though I couldn't save Kyle.
Eddy White, from Cumbria Animal and Hen Rescue, provided Lisa with tickets Roy Chubby Brown Show last year!
Fundraising will stay open for 1 month!
In the past, Lisa has raised money for other mental health causes and started out with 10,000 steps every day in November 2022 for Mind charity.
She then took on Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM)'s Lost Hours Walk in 2023!
The walk - successfully raised £700 last year and we hope to smash that this year!
"Raising money helps me and also helps me to help others," Lisa said. "I would like to take the time to thank every single person who has, and will be willing to support me, and others through hard times.
"On average more than one person a day dies by suicide in Cumbria - more than double the amount that die on our county's roads. Every death by suicide is an avoidable tragedy.
"We need a society where people feel able to reach out for help and to services that are accessible and effective. Suicide is everyone's business."
Please help by sharing or donating to an amazing cause so we can spread more awareness and help the charities help others!
