I am on the board of Exploring New Horizons, an incredible organization that, for over 40 years, has brought kids out of the classroom and into nature. Yet we know thousands more children, particularly from low-income schools and backgrounds, still don't get this opportunity. Many kids who come on our programs live in California but have never seen the ocean or smelled a redwood forest.

As we head into this holiday season, a time of celebration and presents, the best gift you can give to me is to help raise $1000 so even more kids can, not just see the ocean, but learn about and experience nature's beauty and incredible importance.

I've been volunteering with ENH for 4+ years. We weathered two hard years of COVID closure and now we're back, stronger than ever. Every year over 7000 kids ages 10-14 come on our weeklong overnight programs where they explore the forests and beaches of Santa Cruz, work together in small teams, and learn about nature from our energizing naturalists.

ENH has an exciting new model that allows us to match every dollar donated and give scholarships to more and more kids every year. Got questions? Happy to answer them (will I be running a marathon? No but I would do a bit of running in exchange for a contribution from you!).
