Every Drop Counts: Life-Saving Water For Haitians
Tax deductible
As you may be aware, Haiti is facing a dire humanitarian and security crisis that has intensified over recent months. Gang violence has surged, particularly in the aftermath of President Jovenel Moise's assassination in July 2021, leading to a power vacuum and a nearly non-functional government system. This has resulted in widespread displacement, with over 300,000 people in the Port-au-Prince area alone seeking refuge in often improvised and vulnerable sites. The situation has severely impeded access to basic services, such as healthcare and education, and has exacerbated food and clean water insecurity. The humanitarian crisis has been compounded by a cholera outbreak, which has reported thousands of cases, many affecting children.
GT Water Project (https://gtwater.org) continues its work on the ground with local personnel despite the difficulties. Since 2016, GT Water has helped over 900,000 individuals from underserved populations with access to clean water. Please help us to continue to provide clean water to prevent needless sickness and deaths from cholera and other waterborne diseases and pollutants.
You can make a difference by donating today to GT Water Project (https://gtwater.org) ***We have a MATCHING DONATION Challenge in effect*** Your donation to this campaign will be matched with an additional 50%. GT Water was created as a non-profit to help communities and families improve their quality of life by providing access to a sustainable supply of clean drinking water. In 2016 we launched our community concept in Haiti and expanded to Honduras in 2018. With small, dynamic local teams, GT Water is having an outsized impact in our communities. And though we provide water filters to families, we are really providing them the opportunity for a better and sustainable future. Since 2016, GT Water made clean water available to more than 900,000 people, supported Haiti and Honduras by employing 6 full time workers and putting thousands $ in local economy. Our teams in Les Cayes and Tegucigalpa each installs more than 50 water filters/week in the surrounding areas.
