Every Day Matters for Olive - Your Support Can Help!

Hi everybody,
I never imagined I’d be in a position where I’d have to ask for help, but my sweet dog, Olive, needs support, and I can’t do this alone anymore.
Olive’s Story:
I got Olive in 2020 when she was 5 weeks old. She was tiny, underweight, could barely hold herself up and needed LOTS of TLC. From day one, I made it my mission to give her the best and healthiest life possible. Despite the circumstances and with daily weigh-ins, she began to thrive quickly - we were thankfully out of the woods.
Since then, she has been my entire world and the best adventure buddy. Back in 2021, I started my own dog-walking business to spend as much time with Olive as possible, as well as open up her world in ways that wouldn't have been possible before. She loved coming to work every day, leading the pack one step at a time. Olive still comes with me wherever I go, and she's the life and soul of every party. She's the most affectionate, happy, and resilient dog who adores seeing the world and going on adventures, meeting new people/pooches and I'm regularly told "She's the best dog I've ever met!". Olive also provides me with a lot of comfort, I have anxiety which Olive's very in tune with and acts as my therapy dog. On the days when I've struggled, she is my purpose.
However, when I changed my job in November last year to provide more stability to our lives, Olive's health started to decline.
Her Medical Battle:
Olive hasn't ever been the most 'well' dog due to her terrible start in life. However, before the last 6 months, I've been able to manage whatever's been thrown at us and we've taken most things in our stride.
Following a dewclaw injury at the end of 2024, where she had a severe reaction to the medication she was put on, Olive underwent a series of tests, scans and biopsies at a specialist veterinary hospital, to better understand what was going on in January 2025.
Following on from the tests, Olive has been diagnosed with congenital chronic kidney disease (stage 2), irritable bowel disease and gastrointestinal reflux alongside chronic regurgitation. These conditions require constant care and medication to manage. These conditions make everyday life very difficult for us both and the costs are becoming overwhelming.
Olive's insurance has refused to cover most of this due to symptoms being present (but not diagnosed) before things took a turn for the worse. Because of this, I've been backed into a corner with seemingly no way out.
To provide Olive with the care that she needs and that I simply cannot afford, I started looking at potentially rehoming her through a Rescue Centre. Due to her medical conditions, they were unable to help. As relieved as I was to hear this, my heart sank as I couldn't see a way out of this situation, until a friend recommended trying to raise the money needed to ultimately keep Olive in my care, and to live out what days she has left, surrounded by the people she loves.
How You Can Help:
Right now, Olive needs ongoing medical care, including regular vet visits for blood tests, ultrasounds, medication, and special food amongst other smaller costs. The expenses have added up quickly, my family have helped as much as possible, but they can't afford to continue doing so. I’m doing everything I can to keep up, but I need additional support to continue providing her with the best care possible.
If we reach our target of £5000, this will pay for Olive’s care for another year as things stand right now, as well as covering the cost for tests needed within that time.
Any donation, big or small, will go directly toward her medical costs and help ensure she gets the treatment and comfort she deserves. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean the world to us.
Olive is a fighter, and I know she has so much more love to give and life left to live. Thank you for taking the time to read her story and for any support you can offer. It truly means everything.
With gratitude,
Frankie & Olive x
