For the last three years, Anne-Marie’s life has changed completely.

Before becoming unwell, Anne-Marie worked as a social care worker, dedicating much of her life to supporting others including women and children fleeing domestic violence, survivors of the Magdalene Laundries and children with additional needs.

At just 33, Anne-Marie became seriously unwell. What followed were years of debilitating symptoms, medical appointments, treatments and rehabilitation. Her illness has taken her from someone who loved hiking and jogging to spending much of her time housebound and needing significant support with everyday life.

Anne-Marie has since been diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease, and her husband Daire, family and friends have been fundraising to help her access specialist treatment in Germany, alongside the travel, accommodation, care and ongoing support involved.

Their target is €62,000.

They have already raised an incredible €56,500 - leaving €5,500 to go.

And that's where we want to help.

At DGC, we're taking their €62,000 target and turning it into a challenge of our own:

62,000 HEART POINTS FOR ANNE-MARIE ❤️

We’ll bring together 40 people across 5 waves, with each person taking on a challenge using the Ski, Bike and Sled while wearing our live heart-rate monitors. Every minute of effort generates Heart Points, and the harder somebody can go for longer, scores more points in higher hear rate zones.

Together, we're going after 62,000 of them. (A person doing a typical 45 minute high intensity exercise session would score 1,200 points to give you some context)

For us, there's something particularly meaningful about doing this for someone who has spent so much of her own working life showing up for other people.

Now we have an opportunity to show up for her.

We're aiming to help close that final €5,500 gap and get Anne-Marie and her family to their €62,000 target.
