Everthon - For Nepal

Donation protected
I am terrible with stuff like this, I am also terrible and somewhat embarrassed at asking people for things, but I thought I would give it a go and see what happens.  As a rule I do not need to raise money but it seemed like an excellent opportunity to give back a little in someway to a worthwhile cause.

For those of you that know me, Nepal is a special place for me full of fantastic people.  It's had its ups and downs recently but as always it moves forward with little press and no complaints.

It would be nice if I could give back a little of the kindness and generosity that I have become accustomed to in all my visits to such an awesome place.  This is why I branch out to you all to depart with what little change you may have spare.  I do totally understand if you choose not to as we seem to live in a world that is consistently asking/demanding something from us.  It's tiring I must admit, but i thought I would go out on a limb with my fingers crossed anyway.

The plan here is to promote and support 2 events involving 2 Marathons for a worthwhile Nepalese foster charity called 'Buddhist Child Home' in Kathmandu.  Its an awesome organisation that looks after children in need (of which there are many I have seen first hand) from the streets of Kathmandu and further afield.

Event 1:
Is the KGV Everthon whereby I have agreed to run a Treadmill Marathon at school (March 16th).  Students and hopefully staff will also run the distance in teams with me outside the GLT.  Simultaneously, all students are going to complete as many vertical walking circuits possible until the reach the equivalent height of Mount Everest. https://www.facebook.com/matt.spash

Event 2:
I am taking part in the Everest base camp Marathon on May 29th, (10 day trek to base camp, then run a Marathon at a stupidly high altitude........ 5300m - 4000m, simple). This is quite a challenge which i'm hoping won't explode my lungs.

Fantastic Opportunity:
As a final result from this and the charity work that will take place in school outside of this personal request,  I am taking 36 students to Nepal in October on challenge week, whilst there they will be trekking and completing service duties within surrounding villages.  They will also have an opportunity to visit Buddhist Child Home and personally hand over any funding raised and meet the children and staff and family involved in raising and educating them into Nepalese society.

Any help, is help and much appreciated by myself, students and all that are involved.

Thank you for your time

Regards
