As many already know, Everett has been diagnosed with a rare, inoperable brain tumor and has recently started chemotherapy. On New Year's Eve 2024, Everett's parents received the news that their four year old son had a brain tumor and because of the location, a biopsy of the tumor would not be possible. So, after many tests and scans, consultations from multiple medical professionals, and prayer, they have decided that they had the best chance at helping Everett by starting chemotherapy.

Without a biopsy, they are left without a concrete diagnosis; and there are still a lot of unknowns. Their family is learning together with the doctors as they go. But, what we do know is that his current treatment plan is 12 months of chemotherapy. This comes with some unique new circumstances for the Madsen family.

With Everett's treatment, he is unable to engage in typical childhood activities, such as visiting parks and playing with friends, and is largely confined to being at home with his 3 siblings. He and the family have been advised to limit contact with others for 2 weeks each month following the chemotherapy treatments to minimize the possibility of other sicknesses.

Days before Everett’s diagnosis, their family was excited to purchase a new home and envisioned finishing the backyard in time for summer. With the unexpected costs of Everett’s treatment, their vision of finishing the backyard is obviously on the back burner.

We know that the time they want to spend together as a family and the ability to enjoy being outside while still being cautious of Everett's immunocompromised state is the most important thing to them right now. We know that as the weather warms up and summer is fast approaching, sweet Everett needs a safe area to still be a kid and play outside with his siblings. Any assistance at this time would be to help complete their backyard—something that would make such a difference during this challenging time.

Many individuals have reached out and expressed the desire to help the Madsen family. We would be grateful for any contributions to support the completion of their backyard!
You can contribute to this project financially, donate materials, or volunteer professional services such as fencing, sprinkler systems, concrete, or sod installation or window well coverings. If you are willing to help, please reach out or donate here!

The first $15,000 that is raised will go towards the backyard project. The remainder of the funds raised will go towards their ongoing medical expenses.

If you would like to send money directly to Caden and McKayla, please feel free to Venmo them @mckaylamadsen

Everett has always been a fighter and we know that he will continue to use his Hulk strength to fight with all he's got!

Thank you for your love and support of the Madsen's during this time! We know they appreciate you all.
