We're reaching out on behalf of Kayla, Erik, & their daughter Everly, who has been diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma cancer. In December 2022, Everly was considered low risk. However, as of June 2023, she is now high risk. If you have met her you know that her little voice immediately melts your heart. Her laugh and smile are so contagious that you can't help but to laugh and smile back. No one deserves to go through the pain and heartache of watching their baby sick.
Everly, a 2 year old girl, has been diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma cancer since December 23, 2022. Despite the challenges, she remains cheerful and resilient. She is scheduled for a major surgery on Monday, November 13th, to remove a tumor on her right adrenal gland. The surgery will start at 8:00 AM and may last for more than 12 hours. There is a possibility that she may lose her right kidney during the operation. The surgical team will also perform an epidural, a catheterization, an intubation, and a nasogastric tube insertion to manage her pain, fluids, breathing, and digestion. She may experience some post-operative complications that will require close monitoring and care. On December 7th, she will undergo a stem cell transplant, which is a lengthy and intensive procedure that involves chemotherapy and infusion of healthy stem cells. This means that she and her parents will have to spend another Christmas in the hospital. The stem cell transplant will take at least three months to complete. This will be a very difficult time for her and her family, as they will witness her physical and emotional struggles. We are hopeful that this treatment will eradicate the remaining cancer cells in her body.
