UPDATE JUNE 2023 --

It breaks my heart to be here again... Everley relapsed with Neuroblastoma in May 2023. Her routine scans that were scheduled after she was completed with immunotherapy, which she had gone through the last 6 months, showed neuroblastoma on a bone in her skull near her brain. With further scans completed on June 9th, there was found to be another spot located on her skull along with the growth of the first spot and swelling near her cerebellum. Everley had been in excruciating pain, vomiting, and not herself. Chemotherapy and immunotherapy were started on Monday, June 12th. Everley, Nicole, and Dalton have been up in Fargo for treatment since then.

I am here again to ask for prayers, strength, love, and all of the support we can give the Martenson's during this time. Something that a 3-year-old and her parents should never have to go through, they are going through agian.. This week is international Neuroblastoma week, if you can donate, it is so appreciated, but if you can't, a share, like, comment, prayer, etc. will go such a long ways.

Treatment going forward is still unknown depending how Everley responds to the current chemotherapy regimen that is in the works. Nicole and Dalton will be continuing to take time off of work to be with Everley and help her fight again.

2021
In December of 2021, Nicole noticed an enlarged lymph node on Everley's neck, which was believed to be linked to an infection at the time. With ongoing infections and new enlarged areas along her face and head. Everley was seen in the Battle Lake clinic on March 14th for further lab work and an ultrasound. These results showed no different diagnosis or information regarding what was going on. Continued antibiotics, oral and injections were completed throughout the week for which was thought to be a double ear infection.

2022
On March 21st, Everley returned to daycare but continued not to be her playful, happy, energetic self and returned to the clinic for another check-up. At that time, extensive lab work was ordered and collected. The following day, Dalton & Nicole were told they were being referred to a pediatric oncologist in Fargo at the Roger Maris Cancer Center for Everley to be seen on Wednesday.

More CT scans, blood work, x-rays were completed between Wednesday-Friday in Fargo. On Friday afternoon, they were informed of 3 tumors along the left side of Everley’s face, neck, and upper chest. They were sent home for the weekend with pain medication & recommendations that further testing and appointments be scheduled on Monday. On Saturday evening, Everley appeared to decline, so Dalton & Nicole returned with Everley to the Sanford Children's Hospital Fargo.

Continued scans, lab work, and a biopsy have been completed, which found several tumors located on her neck, cheek, by her brain by her eye socket, multiple on her vertebrae, and lung. Diagnosis of the type of cancer is still pending as the biopsy processes. Treatment will be decided once the diagnosis is made. Everley has a very long road ahead of her with treatment and healing.

Donations collected will be used for medical bills, Nicole & Dalton's leave of absence from work, Everley's care, and further necessities. Additionally, a meal plan calendar will be organized by Alex Kirking & Miranda Lemke; if you would like more information regarding this, please reach out to one of them.

Continued prayers and support are appreciated through these next steps in Everley's treatment.
