Why This Story?

Antisemitism is growing in the world around us, especially in the impressionable young minds and hearts of Gen z. The enemy is working overtime to spread lies about Israel and the Jewish people. You'd think since the horrors of the terror attack in Israel on 10.07.23 that the world would wake up and see the vileness of radical Islam and stand beside Israel, but unfortunately the opposite is true---the world is calling good evil and evil good. This book story is meant to draw the line in the sand and give the loud and bold call to stand with the Jewish people, no matter the cost.

Premise of the Book:

The book is a novel that explores the theme of the Biblical call to love, stand with, and support God's plans for Israel, especially when they go through difficult times. What started off as kid's picture book (like my first book was) soon developed into a novel for teens and young adults. I felt like the complex message of standing with Israel was better suited for the developing impressionable minds of teens and young adults. And so a plan was birthed. It was to be a novel! An original story laced with Biblical truth and Scripture.

Struggling with a difficult and tragic past, our story's main character, Leo, discovers healing in one of the most unanticipated places: a love for the Jewish people. His journey to not only loving Israel, but standing with them at great personal cost, is meant to be very human and relatable, but also provoking and challenging. It's meant to call forth a young generation to follow Leo's example and stand courageously for God's chosen people.

Where it all Began:

My last book was release in 2021. Since then, my writing had been dormant. In early 2023, a house of prayer leader in town for a leadership gathering at The Prayer Room prophesied over me, saying, "There’s a book in you. It’s time to pick up the quill again”, and that this book would be dedicated to the Lord.

I was both excited, and terrified at the word. I love writing and engaging with the heart of the Lord to produce a piece that showcases Him---the problem was, I didn't have any stories or ideas in my heart at the time, plus I remembered how much work my first book was, and I wasn't sure if I was ready for that again.

Well, fast forward to October 2023. The horrible massacre at the hands of Hamas happened in Israel and shook the world. In the wake of 10.7.23 attacks on Israel my heart was aching to help raise awareness of the importance of standing with Israel. I listened to podcasters who do this with their massive audiences, and I realized… I can't do what they're doing, I don’t have a social media following barely at all, so how do I share what’s burning in my heart?

As this question rested on my heart, I felt like God dropped a thought into my mind, saying, “You could write another book”. As soon as the came there was a washing of peace and settledness that rested on me…I know it was from the Lord. I knew this was how I could be a voice for Israel.

The Evergreen Movement Marketing Plan

This book will be self-published, so the marketing plan is pretty involved. Social media posts, online ads, personal text messages, approaching non-profits to promote the book, etc.

In addition, the book is part of a wider ecosystem I've launched called, "The Evergreen Movement". I've got a lot of ideas for where this could go, but for the immediate future, I've created a YouTube channel focused on calling people to stand with Israel through prayer and small group Bible discussion. The aim is that people will find value interfacing from the YouTube content and get exposed to the Evergreen book in the process.

Draft 1 is complete, which is very exciting. From here I've begun the extensive process of self-editing the book, after which I'll get professional editors and beta readers involved. As finances come in, I'll also be working to get the book cover and other graphics designed.
