A little while ago my friend Claire Agnew had the shock of a cancer diagnosis, emergency surgery, and subsequent chemotherapy treatment. This fundraising effort is being created to help her pay for some of that treatment.
You will not find anyone who could ever say a bad word about Claire. She is selfless, generous to a fault, the light that walks into every room, and an incredible friend to so many people. She would be the first to help others in need, so this campaign is doing what she would do if the roles were reversed.
Claire told me that a recent short walk felt like "doing a 14er". For those non-Coloradans reading this, that refers to summiting one of the fifty-eight 14,000ft mountain peaks in the State - not an easy feat! This throwaway comment led to the fundraising idea: I can do a 14er too. However, lots of people have done a 14er, so I had better do two. 28,000ft? Well that is not far off 29,037ft - the height of Mt Everest.
So on December 13th I will climb that height on the Stairclimber at Endorphin Eagle in Colorado. Others in attendance will also be doing multi-hour endurance feats on bikes, rowers, and treadmills.
- Will Bourne-Taylor: 29,037 ft Stairclimb
- Ryan Eklund: Marathon on Treadmill
- Endorphin Cycle Gang: Everesting on indoor bikes - 110 miles
Please donate what you can to help a dear friend, and one of the best, kindest people you could ever hope to meet.
Thank you so much!
