Myself and Fionn Whelan are hiking to Everest Base Camp and completing the Three Passes Trek in the Everest Region in Nepal. We are covering a walking distance of over 200km+ and will reach maximum altitude of 5,644m. We started walking from Salleri on 17.04.2024 and hope to finish our hike on 09.05.2024 - a total of 22 days.
We would like to raise money in aid of Oesophageal Cancer Fund (OCF) for completing this challenge. Oesophageal cancer is cancer of the oesophagus also known as the gullet or food pipe.
Ireland has approximately 500 new cases of Oesophageal Cancer annually — one of the highest rates in Europe. More so than with many other cancers, the early signs of Oesophageal Cancer are easy to overlook. Many people could be tempted to dismiss what can seem to be digestive complaints.
Early detection of Oesophageal Cancer is vital, and OCF is a brilliant charity which aims to increase awareness of related symptoms to promote early diagnosis, raise funds for breakthrough research, and help improve the outcomes of anyone living with this difficult cancer. For more information please see OCF’s website https://ocf.ie
Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause as it means a lot to us. Please only donate if you have the funds!
