Haitian Methodist Ministry

It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing that Evena Mettelus has left us to join the Lord in the early hours of Monday, March 20, 2023. She left her husband, her 3-year-old child and a large group of friends and relatives. It is impossible to describe the void that she has left. Her presence, her smile, and her devotion to her family, and her church were remarkable. She loved everybody. Only hours before, she was at church celebrating the church‘s anniversary only to be gone so soon after. Our days here on earth are limited. We never know when our name is going to be called.

As a newly arrived immigrant, she was not yet established enough to have had an opportunity to make pre-arrangements for her funeral thus leaving the family with the unfortunate burden of facing expenses that they are not prepared for. It is with that understanding that we are creating this fundraiser to collect funds for Evena’s funeral. Your help will go a long way to help the family in their time of need.
