Even Leprechauns Need A Little Luck Sometimes...
Trevor Uprichard is known for his love of motorcycles, bagpipes and guitars. He has a magnetic personality and has had vast experiences serving his native homeland of Ireland as a peace officer for over 20 years and has served abroad as an overseas contractor. Before joining as an investigator with the Riverside County Public Defender's Office, Trevor served the College of the Desert Public Safety Department as a Public Safety Officer where he won hearts and minds with his "Irish" charm and became a mentor to many.
In a multi-vehicle crash in Morongo Valley on July 17th, Trevor's "luck" almost ran out. Morongo Basin Ambulance responded to the intersection of Highway 62 and Bella Vista Drive for a report of a collision between a vehicle and a motorcycle. The vehicle, driven by a 70-year-old female, was turning onto the highway when it struck a motorcycle, operated by Trevor. The driver of the vehicle received minor injuries and was treated at the scene before being released. Trevor sustained traumatic injuries and was transported by Morongo Basin Ambulance to Desert Regional Medical Center. Despite best efforts, Trevor lost his left foot with all but 6 inches below his knee.
As always, Trevor had a joke and a smile to share even from his hospital bed. He remains in good spirits but has a long road to recovery. Please help us help him in this difficult time and donate what you can to fill his "pot o' gold."
