Hi! My name is Anna Long. I am a choreographer, performer, and the Director of EVEN, a new dance film.
This film began as a short dance duet for the stage. It’s a love story and a creature feature all mixed into one, highlighting the intersection of intimacy, vulnerability, desire, violence, and fantasy. Our two protagonists are fantastical beings, stripped of their former power and abilities. It even appears that they have ripped each other’s hearts out, yet they still are hungering for more. We take a deep dive into their relationship and into a fantasy world, filming on location in Utah's Bonneville Salt Flats.
I strongly believe in the power of dance as an artform, but dance is limited in the scope of its reach. I want to use this film to make the art of movement accessible to everyone.
