Evelyn Needs Your Help for Post-Surgery Care

Hey!

My name is Evelyn. I'm 33 years old and I've spent the last two years transitioning into the woman I have always been but have never had space to be. It's been a hard road (even before my transition), but I've had some victories and been so grateful for the community around me.

As of recent, I have been approved for Facial Feminization Surgery, a life-changing operating allowing me to better pass as the actual person I am.

If you don't know what life is like without the "correct" face, it's actually pretty erosive. It's a day to day life of misgendering, being taken less than seriously than what you are, and personal mental anguish. Here's what I'm getting done to fix it:

I didn't really understand the impact of external gender affirming care until my legal name was recently changed. Hormones have affected my brain chemistry and that's wonderful, but knowing that I am that much closer being seen for who I really am turned the wall of noise down that much more. I can think more clearly than I ever have, my employment prospects feel that much more stable and I feel more complete in myself than I have since I started taking HRT. I am looking forward to gender affirming surgery on my face to put me that much more in line with a normal life - and that's actually all I want.

My surgery is scheduled for April 28th, possibly sooner, depending on how the cards fall. The work is covered by insurance, and thank god because it would be unfeasible to pay out of pocket. What I need is help recovering. I'll be out of work for six weeks, and as someone who does freelance and hourly work, I can't afford that at all, so, for the second time in my life, I'm putting my hand out to my community. I'm honestly a little nervous about all this, but I'm asking for enough to cover:

... with a plenty of room to spare. I've never undergone this amount of work (I've never had any plastic surgery at all), so any advice from the dolls would be welcome.

I'm asking for $10,000 in total. New York is expensive and falling behind is even more so. Hoping and praying for even more love from the world around me after we get done with this.
