Hi, as you may know, my mom Wendy Stewart recently had a very bad accident where she was thrown over the handlebars of an e-bike and was found unconscious by her boyfriend, Randy, face first on the pavement in a pool of her own blood. She was rushed by ambulance to the ICU where her injuries were discovered to be a bad concussion, a brain bleed on both sides of her brain, multiple facial bone fractures including her nose, a broken tooth, 2 broken vertebrae in her spine, large lacerations on her face/forehead where her head made initial contact with the pavement resulting in 13 stitches and lots of scrapes and bruising on her hands. She has remained in the ICU for nearly 48 hours and there has been some very important updates including her CT scans now showing that the brain bleed has stabilized and her swelling has started to slightly reduce and they are hopeful she will not require any surgeries for all of the fractures at this time. She is however in a great deal of pain and nausea and they have advised us that the road to recovery is going to take some time. She will likely need to wear the neck collar for several months to help her stabilize her neck to support where the vertebrae is broken. We dont have any further direction on how long she will remain in the ICU but we do anticipate this all taking quite some time and she will be unable to work for a long while and may require physio which in this case would not likely be covered.

This campaign is just to help her with the expenses while she recovers and is unable to work. We want to try to reduce her stress however we can and anyone who wants to join with us to make her recovery as easy as possible during this long road we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
