Hello! My name is Eva Goubeaux and I'm a senior at Russia High School and Upper Valley Career Center. Recently, I was offered the opportunity to be and host a foreign exchange student. I would host a student from Germany for about 2 weeks, and then they would host me for about 2 weeks. This experience would allow me to see and attend a trade school in Germany and see how our friends across the pond operate in manufacturing settings. During my time hosting, the German student would get to live with us and experience our culture and our trade school. Upper Valley Career Center has been willing to pay for about 2/3 of my expenses for this trip, however I am responsible for about 1/3 of the expense. This goes toward plane tickets, train tickets, food, outings, and any other expenses with the trip. I am asking for some help paying for my trip. As a senior in high school, I am working to save money for college next year and I can't use that money for this trip. As many of you know, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer late last year, so my parents are unable to support me financially for this trip. I am so thankful and excited to be selected for this opportunity to grow and expand my knowledge in manufacturing here and abroad.
