Evanston Supports the People of Ukraine

Tax deductible
What can we do? As we witness this savage, humanitarian nightmare unfolding in real-time, the feeling is one of helplessness. Writing a check seems passive and barely enough but funds are exactly what is needed right now.
Ken and I were recently privileged to share a live Zoom call with a civilian-turned-soldier defending Ukraine, the man you see above. Just three weeks ago he was a lawyer and management consultant. He spoke to us from his car as he patrolled the streets of Odesa. His wife and children have left the country and only his elderly mother remains. He will not leave her, the elderly community or his country. His courage and honesty so moved us that we are connecting this fundraiser directly to the agency who enabled us to speak to him, who are working 24-7 to help people, just like us, caught in unimaginable horror.
The JCC of Krakow needs direct funds more than anything for clothing, housing, food, legal care, sanitary and baby supplies, training for mom’s daycare, and so much more – not only for Jewish people but for anyone who reaches Krakow.
The need is beyond urgent -- we just heard that there are no available rooms left in the city. However, the refugees continue to arrive.
As they step up, so must we.
Please share this link with your community and donate whatever you can. Right now, it’s all we can do.
