- Hi my name is Jessica and I am writing this for my brother Evan. My brother overdosed in August. It is literally a miracle he is alive. He was found unresponsive and the paramedics were able to revive him. He suffered a major stroke & heart attack. He was on life support for a month and had to have brain surgery and a portion of his skull removed to save his life. He is currently paralyzed on the right side of his body . He is unable to speak or walk. He is currently starting to go through rehab and physical / speech therapy. He has a long road of recovery ahead of him and this has been an absolute nightmare for my family. His insurance will not cover long term therapy in the type of facility for the care that he needs. My dad cannot start the process of applying for emergency disability till he can legally claim guardianship for him which he needs to get a lawyer for. My dad has had to stop working for the past 2 months to be there for him everyday. The medical and lawyer fees are astronomical ... any little bit would help alleviate some of the stress right now. It was hard for me to even write this because I dont like asking for help. Infinite love , Jess.
