Evans Medical Expenses after Brutal E-bike crash

Donation protected

On Sunday, November 19th around 6 P.M., my “other half", Evan, said goodbye as he left our apartment on his e-bike. It was a matter of a few short minutes later that I received a call from an alarmed neighbor. I was told that Evan was in the street (a mile away) and was bleeding profusely from the head. He had been riding at full speed when his handlebar grip came off and he lost control, causing him to horribly crash. He flew into the concrete curb, splitting the top of his head open. To my horror, a significant pool of blood had already formed around him as I arrived on the scene. An ambulance and firetruck with first responders attended to him to control the bleeding and transport him to the Mission Hospital Emergency Room. Once in the ER, Doctors worked to slow the bleeding as it poured down his face and soaked the pillows. He was given full spinal and neck exams, an MRI, and CT scans. We are so truly grateful that they found NO brain damage or internal bleeding. What a relief and blessing that we thank God for. The Doctors closed up the deep gash on the top of his scalp with 15 staples. His other injuries were not serious and will heal on their own.

We are in shock that something like this has happened to him. It is so common in our little seaside town for many young people to ride their e-bikes all around and never think that they could be seriously injured...or killed. We want to warn others to please check your e-bikes, be cautious, be careful, be safe, and always wear a helmet no matter what!

We are thankful that Evan can still walk, and talk, and will heal eventually. So much to be grateful for, however, I have set up this go-fund-me to try to help Evan with his medical bills. Evan is the kind of person that always does things for others and would give his shirt off his back to help. He would be beyond grateful to receive any help towards his medical bills. He would never ask, so I am asking for him. We are praying for his speedy recovery as well as some solutions to paying the large hospital bill that is coming. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kind consideration.
