Evans' Hospital Relief Fund

Evan Almighty (as he's affectionately known in our family) is as strong as they come! Everyone knows Evan as the outgoing, goofy, and fun loving guy in the room.

Over the last 4 years, however, his carefree spirit has been tested. His eyesight in his left eye began to deteriorate; progressively getting worse until his vision was completely gone.

The last year and a half has only proved that vision loss was just the beginning, unfortunately.

In early 2020, Evan began suffering from seizures. During the frightening episodes, it was discovered that he had a tumor on his brain, behind his optic nerve. While the tumor is benign, it's attached to a major blood vessel. Due to the difficult location of the tumor, Doctors were not able to remove the entire mass. Instead, Evan underwent 8 weeks of radiation. The results were not ideal, so he was put on a medical plan with regular doctor visits and medications, which seemed to help resume his day to day activities..

However, on Tuesday March 9th, Evan was being driven home from a friends when he suffered one his worst seizures to date. EMS was called and he was admitted to the ICU in Methodist Hospital, where he was put on a ventilator under heavy sedation. We're thankful to report that on the following Thursday evening, Evan was able to stabilize and wake up without any permanent damage.

Evan is not able to drive due to his vision loss and the possibility of a seizure, which obviously will make it difficult to go back to work any time soon.

The purpose of this fundraiser is to help ease stress and allow Evan the chance to not worry about hospital/EMS bills. We're very thankful to those who have reached out asking to help! Evan is pretty stubborn, I think everyone that knows and loves him, knows this--so he'll probably resent this fundraiser. But as his family, we're very thankful to know how much he is loved... we just want to make sure that he has the opportunity to focus solely on his recovery and adjustment.
Thank you again <3
